Mike Saeger is a broadcaster, copywriter and editor, digital marketer, and public relations veteran whose career has taken him from California to Georgia, to Florida, back to California, and finally to the Alamo City, San Antonio.

After earning his BA in journalism at Cal State Northridge, Saeger served as the play-by-play voice and public relations liaison for the Augusta Pirates, Vero Beach Dodgers, Inland Empire 66ers, and San Antonio Missions minor league baseball teams, the latter of whom made its Triple-A debut in the Pacific Coast League in 2019.

Mike was the voice of Cal Baptist men’s basketball for five years, helping the athletic department launch its award-winning digital media campaign, before moving to Texas. During his time in San Antonio, he has called high school football games as part of Texas Sports Radio Network (TSRN) in addition to his 10-year tenure with the Missions.

During his second stint in California, he hosted a weekly sports talk show on KTIE 590 in San Bernardino that focused on local sports in the Inland Empire and helped to grow the Saturday 6A-10A audience by 250%.

He has served as a speaker at team functions, civic engagements, and at the CBI National Student Electronic Media Convention, and has assisted in social media oversight and content creation.

Saeger specializes in storytelling to drive positive brand engagement, awareness, and sales. He was part of the most successful minor league baseball marketing achievement in 2018 when the San Antonio Missions took on the alter ego of the Flying Chanclas de San Antonio. The promotion was part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la DiversiĆ³n initiative.

The effort led to a $700k increase in team merchandise sales that year, while Sports Illustrated named the Flying Chanclas the best minor league baseball nickname among three dozen participating clubs nationwide.

Mike was an integral member of his organization’s corporate marketing team, developing unique brand engagement marketing opportunities for corporate partners. Saeger ranked among the top 5 on staff in sponsorship revenue during his time in professional sports.

Saeger earned his HubSpot Inbound Marketing and Google Analytics certifications in the spring of 2021 as part of an eight-week digital marketing boot camp class.

Mike currently serves as lead copywriter for VP Racing Fuels, where he utilizes his skills crafting short and long-form copy across various channels. He also develops B2B/B2C email marketing content, collaborates on campaign ideation, and  spearheads on-page SEO strategy. He’s also lent his voice to several VP radio and TV spots.

Mike is happily married to his best friend, J’Leen, with whom he raises two wonderful daughters, Ashlyn and Brylee (#girldad!).

During his spare time, you might find him in the kitchen whipping up his “world-famous” marinara sauce (psst-it’s really good) or other tasty vegetarian dishes, though the rare trip to a local BBQ joint is never out of the question. Mike and his wife are currently working together to write an “Oscar-winning” screenplay.
